Sometimes all nature needs is a chance to recoup. Anil and Pamela Malhotra purchased infertile farm land in Anil's home country in India in 1991 and their lives changed from that moment on. As the husband reminisces, "Once we bought the land, we allowed the forest to regenerate. We planted native species where necessary and allowed nature to take care of the rest." They continued to buy land in the ensuing 25 years and have created a private sanctuary of over 300 acres where tigers, leopards, snakes, birds, and many other creatures, as well as a bio-diverse forest, are protected.
